Copyright law, fair use, purchase downloads, gifts–what a legal nightmare! The laws are not keeping pace with technology and may never truly be able to which leaves us in usage limbo.

So long as the music was put on the iPod legally in the first place, there is no way it should even be slightly considered copyright infringement. Does the music industry really expect to get royalty from the sale of music as it initially leaves its hands and then every subsequent sale from there on out. If I sell my friend my car, GM doesn’t get a cut.
In my opinion the music industry is so backward thinking that they deserve everything that is coming to them. Just because BMG is no longer making a fortune, does not mean that artists will stop producing new music.
