Would You Please Block?

on October 6, 2009

For those teachers who have blocked internet access please read this article. Bud Hunt writes a letter to teachers who want sites blocked. And in my opinion, brings up the number one issue to blocking internet sites. It is easier to block than to teach our children how to use the internet effectively.

“Blocking one distraction doesn’t solve the problem of students off task – it just encourages them to find another site to distract them. Students off task is not a technology problem – it’s a behavior problem.”

Thank you, Bud.. we need more teachers (instructional designers, IT staff) like you.
