    I find looking at the monkey skull most disconcerting while I’m trying to listen to the talk and wonder whether the use of avatars simply becomes self-indulgence like selfless.

    Sure it is, just like taking pictures of yourself and posting them on the internet. But, why do we have to look like ourselves in virtual worlds like most of us do? I think the younger generation will not have any problem with these different identities, since they are playing games where they are non-human.

    This has lead to a whole new area of research.
